The series follows Sookie Stackhouse, a barmaid living in Louisiana who can read people's minds, and how her life is turned upside down when the Vampire Bill, walks into her place of employment two years after vampires 'came out of the coffin' on national television.
Previous episodes: Sookie (Anna Paquin) journeys away from Bon Temps, Eric (Alexander SkarsgĂ„rd) and Bill (Stephen Moyer) try to win back the human public, Jason (Ryan Kwanten) learns that no good deed goes unpunished, Tara (Rutina Wesley) finds refuge in close quarters, Sam (Sam Trammell) bonds with his own, Hoyt (Jim Parrack) and Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) debate the dinner menu, Jesus (Kevin Alejandro) urges Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) to join a coven, and Terry (Todd Lowe) tries to alleviate Arlene’s (Carrie Preston) fears about the baby. Sookie distances herself from Bon Temps leaving Eric and Bill to try their charms on the human public. Sam bonds with other shifters, while Hoyt and Jessica argue about dinner. Lafayette is urged by Jesus to join a coven. Terry tries to dispel Arlene's distressing emotions about impending evil.
Tara and Sookie are back together to work on a real-estate issue. Bill and Eric discuss a local coven that could be a problem for the vampires. Jason is the recipient of some unconventional medical help. Sam discovers some things about Luna's demons. Jessica's cravings for human blood become stronger as she struggles to control them. Sookie reunites with Tara and seeks a solution to a vexing real-estate problem. Meanwhile, Bill flashes back to his past and informs Eric of a local coven whose recent experiments could become a problem for the vampire community, Jason receives some unorthodox medical attention, Sam learns more about Luna's demons and Jessica struggles with her cravings for human blood.
Eric and Sookie work out an agreement while Bill renders advice and guidance to Jessica. Meanwhile, Jason becomes Crystal's reluctant hero and Tommy, once again, becomes estranged from Sam. Pam instructs Lafayette that if demands aren't met, retaliation may be in order. Marnie sets out to give her new powers a try. Eric upsets a get-together. Sookie has her hands full when she tries to help an uncharacteristically befuddled Eric, but she's in for a bigger surprise on a visit to Shreveport to see Alcide. Meanwhile, Sam balks at joining Tommy's moneymaking scheme, Jessica turns to Bill for advice about a moral dilemma, Marnie searches for an elusive spirit and Pam sets her sights on a meeting with a witch.
Alcide joins Sookie in her search for Eric, Marnie needs help breaking a spell Bill finds something in common with the Bellefleurs, Jason pleads for his freedom from Hotshot Sam tries to learn more about Luna, Tommy gets back to his roots. Sookie goes to Alcide for help in finding Eric while Bill finds a link with the Bellefleurs. Marnie needs help to undo a spell and Sam makes it into Luna's inner circle. Jason wants free of his obligations. Tommy goes back to where he originated.
Now episode is: Lafayette goes to Mexico with Jesus to witness the power of a shaman, Bill becomes personally involved with the necromancy problem, Arlene and Terry hope religion can resolve a family issue Sam teams up with Tommy. Bill gets into some difficulty and Sookie takes Eric under her wing. Tommy involves Sam in his criminal activities while Arlene and Terry look to religion for answers. Jason gradually regains his health. Lafayette and Jesus make their way to Mexico seeking a way to control their powers.
